POWER GENERATION EQUIPMENT
Three divisions exist at Globex Power Group, Inc. to supply all of your Power Generation needs:
The Residential Division of Globex Power Group almost exclusively deals in various Generac, Kohler and Cummins prepackaged products. A qualified Residencial representative will meet with a prospective home owner and review their particular needs for Emergency Power requirements. A homeowner may start the process by identifying the basic electrical requirements in the home (Work Sheet 1). The home owner then determines the necessary functional items in an Emergency situation (Power Outage) (Work Sheet 2).
A residential representative will work with the homeowner to determine:
1. The power needed to replace the entire (100%) of the home requirements - INSIDE Automatic Transfer Station - ATS and wiring. performed in and out of residence.
1A. The power needed to replace the entire (100%) of the home requirements - OUTSIDE Automatic Transfer Station - ATS and ALL wiring performed outside of residence.

Typically, a residence will require an Emergency Generator Set (final design) that produces 7 kW to 50 kW of Emergency Power. After completing Work Sheets 1 & 2, a residential analysis will determine what solution is required for your home. The final recommended solution by Globex Power Group Residential Engineering staff will be presented for approval of homeowner.
Globex Power Group engineers can also work with various building professionals during the design stage for new construction, to assure technical considerations are initially included in the design and planning of a new home. An Overall Emergency Power Plan can be designed into the building plans. These considerations will be cost effective for any Emergency Generator and will allow for the circuitry and flow at the design stage.

Typical Residential GenSets
The Commercial Division of Globex Power Group, will work with the goals defined by the owner, end user etc. to develop a proper Power Generation System. This can be for Emergency Protection (backup), permanent or mobile, Prime Supply (baseload for the facility) or a custom service.
As an example, a grocery store chain may wish to develop a plan to protect only its refrigerated items at each location. On a larger scale, a conglomerate of stores may choose to provide an emergency service to protect each location and maintain sales throughout that location in the time of an emergency. In these cases, a single mobile or portable service may be developed that will accommodate multiple sites - although one at a time. Thus a single GenSet may fulfill the probable needs of an entire chain of locations. A single portable unit (sized appropriately for the intended use in an emergency) may be stored and maintained at a centrally located site. At the time of an emergency this unit may be deployed to the effective location. Proactive preparation at each location will add to the quick time frame for emergency start-up.
The engineers at Globex Power Group will work with you to develop a plan of implementation prior to any deployment to be fully prepared in advance of an emergency.

The Industrial Division of Globex Power Group has diverse capabilities.
Reciprocating or Gas Turbines can be used as primary movers (engines) in the solutions developed. These can be integrated into simple power applications. These prime movers can also be part of Hybrid Power, a Micro-Grid, CHP or Tri-generation, and various solutions described below.
The application for a Power Generation System may define the solution, however, certain priorities in the application must be reviewed to assure a proper design and system is developed.
[When defining a Gas Turbine engine, the term Gas is meant to define the AIR that is delivered TO the Sysetm used in the compression phase of the engine.]
The Industrial Division of Globex will adhere to all specifications, account for custom requirements and goals, review all Program needs, while assimilating the components necessary to design and engineer the proper Power System.
There are many Industrial applications that can require a reciprocating engine. The typical gas turbine powered solution, may be for distributed system or a peaking power requirement.
In specific work environments, either form of engine power may be required and designed into a in a portable configuration (such as Mining).
Many Marine applications require substantial power and may require a Gas Turbine powered system.
Generally, a CHP System - Combined Heat and Power, can require and be designed to use a Reciprocating engine OR a Gas Turbine engine as the prime mover.
Uninterrupted Power Systems (UPS) requiring enough energy storage of power made available for immediate use, while allowing adequate time for an emergency generators to supply back-up power. A UPS may be required for data systems, large computer systems or unique manufacturing processes. It should be noted, there have been positive movement in storage that makes review for integration of these systems into viable power generation solutions.
In the US Nuclear Industry, the Industrial Division of Globex Power Group has been involved in developing solutions in the "Flex Program". This is a collaborated effort by 17 of the US Nuclear sites, in conjunction with the US Government, to respond to the Japanese, Fukushima, catastrophic event. in conjunction with the NRC (Nuclear Regulatory Commission) and NEI (Nuclear Energy Institute) . Both Gas Turbine powered and Reciprocating powered concepts have been provided achieving the requirements and priorities of the NRC.

US Nuclear Market
In conjunction with Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) recommendations, Globex designed a "power system" on a trailer (NEPT - Nuclear Emergency Power Trailer) that provides power needs to operate the necessary safety-related equipment a nuclear power plant needs in order to shut down reactors in times of emergency.
Designed with flexibility and speed of set up, this system allowed for appropriate responses to many “Beyond Design Basis” events. The Nuclear Emergency Power Trailer – NEPT – is housed off site and brought to a power plant in critical situations. This extra level of safety (which includes more than just power requirements) was directly developed from lessons learned from the Fukushima catastrophe in Japan.

UPS - Uninterrupted Power Supply
A system to provide - near instantaneous - back-up power for critical processes and equipment. An Uninterrupted Power Supply can be developed to assure all of the critical items in a facility are protected from unpreventable occurrences such as power interruption, power spikes or losses, or an unstable power supply. These proactive systems can be supplied so "instantaneous" power can be added when a predetermined event occurs. A UPS can become an intermediary supplying instantaneous power and allowing time for an emergency generator to come on line and take over as the power source.
